Special Appearances

Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to host appearances by a number of artists, writers, game designers and celebrities. Here are a few of our fond memories.

Steve Cardenas is best known for playing the character Rocky DeSantos, which was the second Red Power Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and he eventually became the Blue Zeo Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo, two seasons later. He is also an American martial artist and a musician. Steve visited us in September 2020 for a special meet and greet, before moving to England.

In October 2019, we spent the evening with a “blood relative” to the author of the Gothic horror tale, Dracula. Dacre Stoker is the great, grand-nephew of Bram Stoker. Dacre is also the author of Dracul, the prequel to Dracula, and his novel is inspired by notes and texts left behind by his legendary ancestor. Dracul is a supernatural thriller that reveals not only Dracula’s true origins but Bram Stoker’s – and the tale of the enigmatic woman who connects them. Dacre Stoker shared an intriguing presentation chronicling his discoveries while researching his family history and how he wrote an intriguing prequel to one of the most popular horror stories of all time.

In 2007, we organized a small convention that we called, Comics & Toys MonsterCon. With a little help from some good connections, we managed to bring Peter Mayhew to Salisbury. The actor best known for his role in the Star Wars movies as Chewbacca spent the day signing autographs and meeting fans. That evening, he sat down at the Meroney Theatre for a conversation and some questions & answers. This big man with a big heart made a big impression on all of us. May the Force be with you, Peter, always.
